Britain From Above
BBC has yet gave us (aired August 10, 2008 but the site is still amazing to look at so what the heck) another reason to re-discover how we can connect with one another. This time, with an extraordinary journey through Britain From Above. Intercepting points of humans and machines alike.
Tracking of the Taxis in London from above.
Lights in London from above.
And of course with every great series, preceding the mechanics of the cash cow would be to have an amazing DVD set. You can buy yours here.

Cindy Sherman
I am currently shifting to a new place, new room. The course of action forces me to pack my room. Just when I moved the bottle of whiskey 2 inches to the left, alas! I found my stash of Cindy Sherman's books. Did I kept it there so that every time I reach for a drink, I will see her works? Nonetheless, I flip through the Untitled Film Stills... and then some from Retrospective... I feel like ....... from the overwhelming photos revisit. And today I found out that she has got her new works up at the Metro Pictures gallery.

A "hole" he said.
Gabriela Felgentrager
"My work is not of the pretty variety and I frequently use unconventional materials. The form and size of my pieces encourage both the wearer and the observer to re-think their notions of what jewellery is and what is wearable. For me a ring is more than a "hole" for the finger. A brooch is more than a pretty accessory. These body objects have their own place and space…".

No, you do not need to lift a finger on that joystick.
Found this guy who did this custom Mario world with rhythm that sync with a sound track of a certain Japanese anime. All the bumps and monsters are placed strategically to enable Mario to move thru the world without any controls, if you think that's easy, don't forget all the sound effect sort of sync with the sound track.
Sit back and enjoy this 11 minutes extraordinaire.

Are you Generation C?
So what is Generation C you may ask.
Ask yourself, do you engage in the ever flowing strings of information around you? Do you question a new product rather than behold it in awe? Do you have a regular contribution of your life to the World Wide Web? Do you go to a party and have at least half the party-goers say hi to you without you knowing who the hell they were?
I'm sure you do have all the answer to the questions above. But what is Generation C? Trendwatching.com said that its creativity, content, celebrity and control. But there are groups out there who uses the term differently. e.g. www.generation-c.org.
The list of other examples
- C – Cusp
- C – Caring
- C – Culture
- C – Control
- C – Content
- C – Channel
- C – Criterion
- C – Celebrity
- C – Cynicism
- C – Character
- C - Community
- C – Connected
- C – Consensus
- C – Complexity
- C – Collaborative
- C – Communication
- C – Code (internet coding)
- C – Companies/Corporations (most will be working for large companies and/or corporations rather than small or medium sized businesses)
- C – Creativity/Creative/Creators
Maybe Generation C is defined by one of these traits, maybe its all of them.
You decide.

When everybody's getting an iphone, why settle?
Go to a club, a wedding dinner or a date with the hot girl from across the road. Somebody within a proximity of 5 meters will be carrying an iphone, working their little fingers trying to enlarge or shrink that picture they just took. Very nice you said, but they don't come in black. You can try to spray the chrome backside black to match your every piece of black tees. Or you can get this.
Made only to an edition of 50. Cost of $2000. Now you don't have to change your wardrobe to chrome. Buy it here.

Can Film Bring The World Together?
This is the question asked by documentary filmmaker Jehane Noujaim. Her asking for a wish as innocent as World Peace during the 2006 TED conference brought many to rethink why are they doing what they are doing right now.
A little history of Jehane Noujaim...
Jehane Noujaim began as a photographer and filmmaker in Cairo, Egypt, where she grew up. She moved to Boston in 1990, where she attended Harvard University and graduated magna cum laude in Visual Arts and Philosophy in 1996. Earlier that year, Noujaim was awarded the Gardiner fellowship under which she directed Mokattam, an Arabic film about an Egyptian garbage collecting village. She then joined the MTV News and Documentary division as a producer for the documentary series, Unfiltered. Noujaim left her producing job at MTV to produce and direct Startup.com in association with Pennebaker Hedgedus Films. The feature length, highly acclaimed documentary has won numerous distinguished awards including the DGA and IDA Awards for best documentary. She has since worked in both the Middle East and the US as a director and cinematographer on various documentaries including Born Rich (Jamie Johnson), Only the Strong Survive (Miramax Films), and Down from the Mountain (Cohen Brothers).

This is an invitation for anyone reading this to pass the word on.
World Peace. We need it.

Tenori-On
Many of you may have seen this project by Toshio Iwai back in 2005. Same creator of the cult Nintendo DS game Electroplankton all media-crazy kids are struggling with to create that masterpiece of sounds.
Finally in June 2007, Toshio Iwai did a live performance on stage with the fully developed Tenori-On.
Launching on the 4th of September 2007 at Phonica Records / Vinyl Factory, London. Yamaha will showcase this extraordinary collaboration piece with Toshio Iwai.
Tenori-On uses an illuminated, interactive grid of lights for the user to trigger and create sounds. Very similar to monome, created by a collective based in Philadelphia, except the fact that Tenori-On do not need to be hook up to a computer to create sound.
Now, to save up that US$1000 for it.
Meanwhile, you can befriend Tenori-On here.
